Thanksgiving week pipes

This first one I'm calling the Pilgrim's Pear

Also a simple bent, my first attempt just using mahogany stain

And a new pickaxe that I really like. Without meaning to make it so, it puts me in mind of Spock's coffin.

My wife also taught me how to use a sewing machine this week. Mine is on the left. She showed me what to do by making the one on the right.

like the new work, the pickaxe is particularly nice. thanksgiving is a perfect time to work on some new pipes, and to smoke them of course after a great meal.

The stem was upside down when I took that bottom picture. It fits much better when turned the correct way

The new pickaxe, not my earlier attempt that is sitting on the bag
