My Third Pipe I've made!

Post by smokindawg »

The pipe is one I made recently. The stem is handcut ABS, my first attempt at a stem and third one I made that worked.

I stained it light tan over blue and the grain really came out. I'm learning and getting better at this, although I have a long way to go.

I like this pipe: the grain is amazing, the top rough-rim is cool. However I would decide for a slightly thicker stem... it looks too slender to me...
Is that green color I see on the lower layers of the staining? That just makes this pipe unusual.. unusally cool ;)
Congratulations!

The underlying color is actually blue........... The pipe isn't really as orange as the pictures make it look.

I learned a lot in making this pipe, especially about making stems. I need to get started on the next one as soon as I get the time.
