Vacuum chuck

I stumbled upon this while looking for plans to make a vacuum pump for impregnating wood with oil or resin. It may have some use for pipecrafting. What do you think?

I'm not sure what I would use it for. It's a neat hack though.

Me neither. I'm still trying to think up a purpose for this in my workshop. Maybe there aint any? But I still like the idea of having such a gadget.
