Dave, from the picture, I'd say "pretty good" is an understatement. Very nice looking pipe!!

I like the design, it really does show off the grain.

While I'm not a fan of panel pipes I must say you've done a fine job with this one! You've carved it to enhance the grain in a striking fashion. Well done.

Dave (not the Dave that carved the pipe but a totally unrelated Dave :) )

Whitebar, the first time I looked at this post, I saw the picture. It was right here. Oddly enough, I do not see it now.

I'll put the images here, so we can look without opening new browsers just to see the pictures:

The grain is great! I don't like the shape, thought it looks very well executed. In the first picture it looks like the finishing could have been better, but that's probably just a problem with that photograph. The staining looks very, very good.

I'm trying hard to remedy that. I am learning of many obstacles, but I am not considering throwing in the towel yet. I hope to be offering the highest quality briar on this site before the end of this year.

As for your pipe, I am VERY impressed! I would love to see more picture from different angles, but it looks like a winner from the two you posted.

Well done!
