The White Part

Post by sprangalang »

What do you guys use for the white part? Ivory? Mastodon? Tagua nut? acrylic?
I saw some tampers somewhere online, that a fellow made, using some plastic material, that looked incredibly like ivory. I think it was called Simba.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

All of the above, probably. I personally have use acrylic, bone, ivory (elephant and mastadon), holly, and synthetic ivory sold mostly to pen makers. And that's just teh white stuff....

White Stuff!

I've been making tampers for a while now and use a lot of Deer Antler. Much of it polishes to a very white ivory or pearl look.
