I have a full-blown smithy mill/metal lathe in my basement that I should use for this stuff. I don't know why I don't???? It's a bit intimidating, to be quite honest. :oops: I should play around with it a little bit and drill my next stummel on it.

@Matt

For a few bucks more than the Harbor Freight vise, this Enco Super Compound Vise looks like it's a better quality: http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INPDFF?PMPA ... M=426-8397

I also have the Smithy. Yes, it's the Chinese quality thingy, but I find that it's accurate enough for pipe work.
Regards,
Frank.

I caught a Pre-Trans Barling on eBay with a few junkers in a lot. Paid $30 for 4 pipes. Sold the three junkers as "yard pipes" at $10 each, making for a free pre-trans Barling. The Barling was all but new, maybe smoked once or twice. I turned it on eBay for about $285 to a dealer, who I'm sure turned it for $500 or $600.
