Interesting new offering from Mimmo

Post by sethile »

Hello All,
Anyone know anything about Mimmos new on-line Briar shop? Just happened on to it. He talks about shipping from the US, which means he must have someone in the US handling this? You can order a box of either 10, 20, or 30 blocks whith a mix of cross cut and plateaux (extra grade).

Interesting, but at the price I'd want to know how many blocks are plateaux and how many are cross cut. Guess I'll see if I can find out. I'd be interested in an all plateaux box and might see if that is an option.

Anyone tried this, or otherwise know anything more about it?

Hi Scott,

I think you must have read it wrong. When he wrote "from us" he meas from his location, in Italy. Otherwise he would have said "from US".
What do you think?
The price for 30 blocks is very reasonable. I doubt that you will be getting pimo Mimmo quality.
All the best,
Tano

Yes, you are right, Tano. I wrote to Mimmo and received this reply:
Scott ,on the parcel there are 40% plateaux and the rest cross cut (hight grade normal size and some very large bloks normal grade ). If do you wont only plateaux you need order more than USD 600 plus shipment. I will send the parcel directly to you from Italy with UPS.
It's great he's making this available. If anyone orders a box I'd be real interested to know how it looks. I'd rather not have that many cross cut blocks, but it seems like a pretty decent price, especially on the 20 or 30 block box (, and once you figure the shipping is included, not to mention the ease and savings of using PayPal versus a bank transfer... Certainly worth considering, and it's great to have some options!
