...is MacBaren's Black Ambrosia, currently. It makes for a nice relaxing smoke on the back porch watching the stars. As an added bonus, my wife loves the smell of it.

Zero tongue bite, which is much better than the others I've tried.

What's your favorite?

These days I'm really liking Cornell & Diehl's Bailey's Front Porch. It's a blend I didn't think I would like, but have found that I really love. The room aroma isn't all that great, but the taste simply must be experienced to be believed.

Gotta go with Best Blend from Smoker's Haven. That or G&H's Whiskey Rope. Tough choice.

I like MacBaren's tobaccos in general. The black ambrosia is a favorite, as is the Cuber.

SG's 1792, black XX rope, Dunhill Royal Yacht, and SG #4 brown rope, in that order.

I know, I'm weird. But I have one hell of a nicotine buzz!

Altadis' Blend #4. Very sweet and aromatic, It's like nothing else I've ever tasted, but it's a bulk Tobacco, the only place I've found that sells it is a shop in Pike Place Market in Seattle.

1792 is a special treat for me. These days is all about the Mississippi Mud or Byzantium. They come fairly inexpensively by the pound. :)

The current favorites in my three categories:

Virginia - McCranie's Red Ribbon
Latakia - Penzance
Perique - Three Nuns / Escudo

That is, when I'm not smoking my own cellared mason jar mongrel mixes and blends from good bulk tobaccos.

Erinmore Flake for about thirty years now. Nice cool smoke and pleasant room smell. My daughter says that smell is one of her favourite childhood memories.

As a new pipe smoker it seems like the choice is endless. I've been smoking my local tobacconist's brands from their display jars. I'm still using a cob pipe!

Is there a way I can read up on the different kinds of tobacco and areas of production. So far I've tried Virginia Red, Cavandish and a dark blend.

Thanks.
