Well, I went to Radio Shack and got one of those grounding straps that Kurt was talking about. I clip it to the cabinet while blasting, and no more shocks.

Use the aforementioned strapping of oneself to the cabinet via alligator clips and metal wires, as kinky as it may sound, has scientific basis. By being constantly connected to the cabinet there is no chance for a charge to build up, it just flows right through you constantly at such a low (voltage/amperage/ohmage-don't remember which is which) that it is unnoticeable. This is also much safer if you work in a shop filled to the gills with "extra" stain, finish, paint, and aerosols from your day job as I do.

BTW this is my first post to this site, although I have been avidly reading it for two days straight at work (hope my boss doesn't read this). Thanks to everyone for all the tips! Thanks especially to Dan (bluesmk) for the link to this page at Richmond this past weekend. :thumb:
