First I apologize as I know this is an Ivarsson shape--I know it has been done by several people. I just really love the shape and I've been wanting to do one for quite awhile. This one came out so nice I had to share with you guys because I know you can appreciate when something just comes together.

It's not a clencher--came out to 85 grams but it feels really nice in the hand. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful pipe... and who cares if it's a shape someone else has already done? Aren't most pipes? I like the ring on the shank end.. what is that? And the blast(I'm assuming that's a blast finish) is very nice.. gives it some good tactile elements and just makes the pipe look right. Nice work..

Dave, that pipe made the hair on the back of my neck stand up! That is awesome! I absolutely love the sandblasting...heck I like every single thing about that pipe. WOW and as I have stated before, the boxwood ring is a nice nice touch, very classy.

Great work! Thanks for sharing.

@ Hazmat--the trim ring is French Boxwood and it is excellent stuff to work with and yep, the finish is sandblast.

@ Bryan--thanks Bud! You know me, I do love the boxwood--the stuff is awesome.

@ Rad--Thank you sir for your kind words. Now if I can just do them faster. (You really layout, cut and drill a pipe in 20 minutes? Dude you are my hero!)

@ Scott--Thanks friend!

Dave, are you selling the pipes you make? If not, you should be. Not only does the pipe appear extremely well executed, but that is one beautiful sandblast.

Dave, what do I need to do to get a pipe from you, hmm?

All I can say is "Wow". The only suggestion, and this nothing more than preference, is that the stem could be slightly longer - but other than that, it's damn near perfect. I love it, and I want it. :D

Damn!!

That is awesome buddy. I second what Kurt says, the stem could be a bit longer. But this doesn't take away from the pipe. That is seriously awesome. I held a Lars in my hand in that shape, and man you nailed it! Great work buddy!

Dave

That's a beaut for sure. Tell us about your sandblasting get up.

What kind of cabinet, gun, and compressor do you use?

Everyone thank you so much--I honestly would not be making pipes if not for this forum. I know I have said that several time and others have said it too. But it is the absolute truth and I'm very thankful to all of you.

The stem length is a bit short but I tell you, I wasted alot of rod stock getting this stem made. After my first two failures the stummel languished on my bench for a couple of weeks. This stem ended up being close enough and I didn't want to waste anymore material.

Best,
Dave

Wow Dave!

Sorry to jump in here late, but this is one of the most beautiful sandblasts I have ever seen. Fantastic grain, and your execution looks near perfect to me! I love everything about this pipe. The shape, the color, and I love the boxwood ring, which sets it all off wonderfully.

You mentioned about the help and encouragement here on the fourm. AMEN to that Dave! You and the the rest of the folks here are awesome!

Hey, I'm late too. That's some fantastic grain. Beautiful sandblasting too. The stem is too short for my taste, but even with that in mind I think that's a helluva pipe. Congratulations :pipe:

Dave,

Wow! Great job- I look at that pipe and I envision it well-smoked and six years old. That pipe will only get better looking as the years go by. Everything indeed came together on that one!

Scott Thile- are you the former piano tech from the San Diego area??

Dave, again, puff your chest out and start buying the next size up in hats!,
