Lathe axis concentricity problem

Hello,

I have problem with axis. I drew axes on briar block and i fixed it in the chuck. One axes looking good (tobacco chamber). And second one is moved about 2mm. When i saw it i check concentricity spindel with tail stock. Its good.
Could the problem be in the sketch I made?
When I set the axis from the airway with dead centre, it looked like it was going at an angle

It appears that your lay out is off, since the alignment of the lathe looks right.
I don’t know how your briar jaws work, but if there is a single pair of pivot pins, could you just change the angle?
Your bit should still intersect the bottom of the chamber at nearly the same place- just a hair higher.

I agree with Doc. If you look at the outer lines of your shank, you can see the bisecting line of your draught hole is too far to the right. Optical illusions abound in pipe making, in my experience.

If your tailstock and headstock are aligned properly as they appear to be in the last picture then your block is simply not correctly aligned in the jaws. You are using a chuck with pins, so just rotate the block slightly.

Looks good.
Just a un important tip , but if you want to demonstrate the draft placement in your chamber, shine a light down the draft.
The light will form an hour glass shape on the bottom of the chamber.
It took me a minute to realize that I was looking at a piece of rod.
