My name is David Inglis, I’m 33 and live in New Zealand.
I have been smoking a pipe for a bit more than a decade, however it wasn’t really until 4 years ago that I began to smoke daily. I collect old britwood from the WW1 era or earlier, my favourite marquee being Orlik or Charles Maas, and I’m passionate about homegrown tobacco, something which given my location started out of necessity rather than curiosity.
A change in health circumstances has meant that I have had to step away from writing my MA thesis and running some workshops and to find something to do with my hands…so I purchased an old Myford lathe and am currently cleaning her up.
I have yet to make a pipe, and to be honest I am in no rush. I have always enjoyed cleaning up estate pipes I find, so am excited about learning more about this craft.
