Thanks for having me aboard! I look forward to tapping into the deep well of knowledge and experience here. FYI As soon as I detect a cultish vibe around here I’m jumping ship!!

Welcome to the forum, Donavan! No cult here, just the world’s largest repository of knowledge for the pipe making craft. Questions are always welcome, but I’d recommend reading through the posts and stickies from those who’ve come before you, as most questions pertaining to most techniques have already been asked and answered.

Welcome!
Not a cult, but there are some older threads that get referenced on occasion that may make it appear so, such as the one where shop bears were discovered, and the discussion of how ebonite smells when worked.
There are also a number of forum members who may be a bit impatient, but in general, if you make an effort and swallow your butt hurt (happens on in the Gallery fairly often), you will do well.
Also remember that everyone on the forum has his own way of doing things and you will often get different solutions to your problems.
If you want cult, try the Pipe Makers Guild, where the answer to many questions is a baseless “That’s the way we do it”
