Hello gang, just joined this week.
Real Name: Mark Woitkiewicz
Age: 40s
Location: NC USA
Years a pipe smoker: on and off for 15 years
Getting into pipe msking now, I enjoy wood carving and pipe smoking...why didnt i think of this sooner?
Im getting ready to try my hand at making some pipes. I started by pimping these Missouri Meerschaum hardwoods (before and after below). Im getting a feel for how to play with finishing. Ive resored a couple of pipes so Im ready to take the plunge. Im going to start with basswood to make a prototype since im used to that material...since its not really a good wood for pipes, ill be moving on to make one from a better material. My goal is to make a few from local sources, so I'll be experimenting quite a bit.
I hope to learn a lot here!

Welcome! You've come to the right place to learn. How's this nice cold ass weather treating you?
