Dublin bamboo stem

Ok guys I'm working on this and need some guidance, what would you do with the shaping on the stem? Leave it as is or change anything in particular. Thanks for any input.

The shank angle is a bit jarring. I tried marking it up, but I’m not good with my fingers there. I would thin out the sides of the stem blade as well. The top view of the stem is fine. It’s just the side view that I would change, and even that is mostly aesthetic.

Thanks Jeremiah, the transition did melt away a little when blasting. I thought I should thin the blade more, thanks for confirming.

Both sides for me. And to my eye, the diameter of the flare should be about the same as the nodes on the bamboo. Looks a little thick right now.

Not sure you can change this now, but the part that is really sticking out to me is that transition line from bamboo to stem.
My brain wants it to be in the center of those two high spots. This takes a little more planning at the beginning, but I think it's a detail that would really matter.

Quick & dirty edit. I'd go for more of a stout cone as opposed to the gramophone/morning glory shape of the stummel, and remove some meat from the bottom to try and get the lines back under control. Also thinning the stem and toning down some of the flare. The stem might look better if it was a bit shorter, too. My 2 cents.

I agree with Ratimus on the stem, including the shortening.
As far as the stummel, I like the setter aspect and wouldn’t want to lose it.
You can make a new stem and incorporate Rat’s syggestions, including the length if you are feeling particularly masochistic.

Yea, I'd hate to lose the sitter aspect of it. I'll redo another stem and see if I can get this thing to look decent.
