Working on another Prince for a guy, how's my shaping on this one. He wanted one like I had done that was based on a Former Prince that I saw.

Pretty good but too much of an outright ball imho - Princes generally have a fairly flat top.

Thanks Sas, this was a request to do one like I had already done. Was more for my transition shaping, should of clarified that in the original post.

I was going to say the same thing about the bowl being a little tall, but yep, it’s solid otherwise.

Thanks guy's, I've started a different process for shaping my transitions and it's a lot quicker for me too. So that's a big plus. I'm also using a wheel a little more confidently, just need to go ahead and get the French wheel now.

I think it looks great. I do agree that it is tallish, but bowl shape varies from maker to maker (and from pipe to pipe for me)
You also caught the grain about as well as you can for a prince.
Also, keep up whatever you are doing with the photos, I can see these on my iPad.

Thanks Doc, It takes me a few extra steps to post, but if it makes it easier for everyone to see I'll keep doing it. This one is completed and I'll post pics in the gallery.DocAitch wrote:I think it looks great. I do agree that it is tallish, but bowl shape varies from maker to maker (and from pipe to pipe for me)
