Anybody ever used kirinite for stems? It says it's acrylic based, so I'm thinking it should be fine.

I haven't, but it looks to me like it would work fine.

Get some. Test it thoroughly before you put it on a pipe that you will sell.

Just ordered a few blanks. I'll report on the results when I get a good idea of how they work out.

Made a couple pens out of the stuff. Didn't really start to get shiny for me until the higher grits of micro mesh, so if you're thinking it looks dull, stick with it til the end.

Good to know, Ryan. Thanks man. I got a few of the Lava Flow pattern. I'm thinking it will look pretty sick on a black rustication, maybe with a silver band.

Black rustication with a silver band sounds awesome. I can't wait to see what you come up with. The depth of that stuff is just unreal. I made a fountain pen from the lava flow and sold it to my dad for $60. I found I got the best results going through all the grits of micro mesh, followed by Brasso and then Meguiars clear plastic polish. I don't know about the safety of those for pipe stems, but maybe something to think about at least.
