Your stem from the saddle to the button is bumpy and uneven. It's hard to tell from the pictures if the stem has a slight bend to it or not. If it does, I would unbend it and make the stem from the saddle to the button a straight taper and then rebend. If it isn't bent you just need to even out the taper.
Am I Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley??...depends on the day.

What type of wood is this pipe made from? It looks like Wenge to me.
