Years a pipe smoker: Back at it for about a year
How you got into pipe making: Smoked a pipe years ago and never threw out my favorite pipe - a 1984 Tinsky Bulldog. After smoking cigars the last 8 years or so, ran into a guy at the local cigar lounge smoking a pipe and he got me going again. I have lots of hobbies and figured making my own would eventually get me nicer pipes than I could justify buying.
Other interesting facts: Married 30 years with one daughter just graduated from college and out on her own now and 2 dogs (labs) that think their people and wouldn't have it any other way. And, lest I forget, a mother-in-law living with us that makes it real easy to spend a couple hours in the basement every night puffing, pipe making, fly tying or whatever.
