Real name: Jason Thompson

Years a pipe smoker: 2

How you got into pipe making: I've always like wood working since before I hit my teens and have been a hobby woodworker for over 10 years. I had some blocks of walnut that had really nice grain and thought a pipe would be a good way to show it off. Found this place when trying to figure out how and slid down the slope from there. Never did manage to get a pipe out of that walnut though.

Other interesting facts: I've been married to my wonderful wife for almost 15 years and we've had 3 great boys (8, 10 and almost 12). My grandfather was a master craftsman (big reason why I got interested in woodworking), though he unfortunately passed away when I was 9 months old. He was commissioned by the Smithsonian to build a model of a tobacco trading ship which now is the centerpiece at the entrance to the maritime exhibit in the Museum of American History in DC.
