George is the Official Spokesperson of the Greater Kansas City Pipe Show North American Pipe Carvers Contest, and this is an official announcement that the 2015 shape will be the Cavalier.... If it isn't, then we can all sue him at this point, since it is official.

I did the same image search already and it IS a shape. It just has a lot of variants and room for interpretation. I suppose 'concept' is a better word than 'shape.' Should make for a very interesting competition.

Well this will be interesting, and definitely a challenge! The possibilities for design are almost limitless. I can't wait to see what kind of mechanical contraption Nate will come up with
I have a few ideas. Good? Probably not so much Good luck too all!

Don't forget that a cavalier is functional as well as stylistic. The airway always goes through to the "tail", and the end cap must be removable. (How the tobacco chamber is connected to the shank/tail airway doesn't matter)

Yeah Wayne, I can see what you mean, the cavalier is a shape when it comes to pipe factory shape charts. However, in regards to the contest, the cavalier is an engineering system, not a specific shape- which is why I think it's a great contest choice.
