Hey guys, I am not entering the contest, I just wanted to be part of the thread :)

Though I had not cut into briar yet two years ago I had already made several corn cob Oom Paul's by then, and, well, mechanics are mechanics. So I should know how to do this already... whether I do or not is besides the point of course!

...and to be honest, I aint looked up the word capriciousness yet, so even though I don't know what it is, just the thought of a "Capricious Sasquatch" scares the heck out of me!! ;)

Too late Bill, you're in. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

The rave review Art gave your pipe on SF is also a factor. Proof positive that you built the thing good.

Enjoy!

Thats awesome Sas! I met Joe Walsh from the Eagles once, funny character. He kept saying, "Your from Cleveland? Man, I'm from Cleveland too"...

Wow, some nice ones here for sure......... Some major competition.

But the main reason that I'm in this is the very thing that got Sas involved in starting this. To get the creative juices flowing in the newer carvers that haven't done much in the way of pipe making, and to go outside the comfort zone of many of us in that we have to make something we have not tried before, something that isn't the easiest thing too do and to get us thinking outside the box just a bit on the mechanics of drilling a bear like this thing has been so far for me.

Actually, I've gotten lucky so far and have the drilling, extension on and the rough shaping done with no major problems so far. But I still have enough time and material still on the block to totally screw it up.

Thanks again Sas, you lit the fire under me a bit and I appreciate the chance. This not only has me involved as I stated above, but also has me in the shop working on pipes more than I have in a while.
