Correct me if I am mistaken, Smurf.

I am inclined to agree with this, although I am open minded enough to accept another definition, given a logical and convincing argument.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to bail out this year. I've been totally tied up refurbishing my house and I need to stay after it as much as possible.
Perhaps next time around.

It's coming along. I've got it down to finishing and stem work. Perhaps foolishly I decided to make this pipe also my first attempt at a Military Mount Stem, which has proven more complicated than I anticipated (shocker), but I think I can still make it work.

If I can pull it off its going to be quite a pretty pipe, the grain came out really nice so far.

How's the move coming, smurf?

Well the house is sold and tomorrow is my last day up here in MI. Heading down to Louisville next week to house hunt, then taking a month of much needed time off before I report in down there in July. I haven't had any shop time in almost 2 months, so I'm itching to cut some briar again.

I'm in if it's still open. I'll get an oval shank made asap. (I also still have one left from Chicago so...)

Take your time and make one the best you can. This is a good exercise for the experienced to guide and the novice to learn while in the process of making. I'm not so sure of providing a pipe that was already made. I would like to see participation regardless of skill level.
