The little piece on the end is separate from the stummel. He drilled two air holes at a right angle and used that piece to plug the hole that runs to the chamber. Makes for a dramatic shape.

That makes me wonder: can you use such a plug without fixing it to the rest of the pipe? Looks like an easy way to pass a pipe cleaner in case of gurgle (as if a Walle gurgles :roll: ) without even having to remove the pipe from your mouth!

As always Roger, you've made an absolutely fantastic pipe. Some shapes I like better than others, but this one's stunning!

Wow. Always surprising and always fantastic. Have you considered making one that is also carved to fit ergonomically in your hand ( sort like a custom grip that fits the thumb on one side and the index finger on the other ). It might be overkll but hey that's part of the deal.
