Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted a pipe for critique because I've been on holiday and stuff. Anyway, this is a pipe I started a long time ago but never got around to finish until now. I don't really know what this shape should be called, is it an apple, or a brandy maybe? The decorative ring is greenheart. Tell me what you think, I know some places that I've messed up, like the terrible fit of the decoration ring, but please, point out what you see that I can improve!

Re: Olive pipe
Not bad. The shank is a bit short which leaves the shank and stem end appearing too short for the size of the bowl. The button and bit end of your stem could be a bit more crisp/defined. Otherwise a handsome pipe.
Re: Olive pipe
Whatever you want to call it I like it. Thanks for showing it to us.

The wood grain on the drivers side is pretty cool. I like it!

Re: Olive pipe
Maybe if you took a bit more off the back of the bowl, the proportions might have been a bit better?
All in all a nice pipe, though!

I agree with taking a touch more off the angle of the back of the bow. However, it's still a great looking pipe.Charl wrote:Maybe if you took a bit more off the back of the bowl, the proportions might have been a bit better?
