Eltang & Tokutomi visit

Post by jeff »

I just checked out Tom's webcam today and saw some amazing pipes that were unlike anything I had ever seen him produce. Has he been influenced by Kent? Is he reinventing himself? What the hell?!

Then I saw one that looked like a Tokutomi. Aha! I remembered that Tokutomi San was supposed to be visiting him. That might explain those pieces. So, check out the webcam over the next few days and you will be sure to see some very interesting pipes in various stages of completion.

Best,

Jeff

Thanx for the link!

Tony Saintiague @ Smoking Pipes told me of Toms' visit w/Tokutomi and I too thought this would affect Toms' pipes. Tokutomis' last pipes have a contrast stain - a new developement. These two guys are amazing pipemakers and are sure to influence one another and by extention, pipemaking in general. I am eager to see how Toms' new pipes progress.

smokerpipe, if you email them to me I'll be more than happy to host them and post them! I'd love to see their colaboration.

"Tokutom" ... that's a riot.

I wonder how they communicate? I.e. what language do they speak with one another?

Hey Guys

Sorry for not responding earlyer but my mind and hands have been elsewhere....

Saldy as is often the case on these kind of events I get to carried away to focus on staying behind the cameraas its just to much fun to participate in first person...

Tokutomi had stayed for almost a week with Tom and they seemed to have had a good time toghter, Comunicating in the universal smokesingnal codex they where able to understand and describe their complicaded ways of drilling a few holes in a peice of wood that they stuck some rubber into...

here are a few pictures from the event...

Photo #4 is one of the most amazing pipes I've ever seen. 8O

Love, Thanks so much for sharing these photos!

Do you know what will become of that Tokutomi pipe in #4?

I really hope that pipe makes it to Chicago. :thumb:
