Take a look at how much grain this pipe has! It's like 95%-5% in favor of grain on most views... wow. Huge pipe too.

That's a remarkable piece of wood for sure.

It's nice to see Rob didn't over buff the stem on this one.
He consistiently has the nicest pipes on Ebay - I just wish he wouldn't
"restore" them so much. I've seen some pretty rounded edges on some of tthe stems of pipes he sells. Hard to get over it, if it is a pipe by some great carver. Especially since he generally gets ALL the money for his stuff.

I strongly doubt that he would hide flaws or otherwise mislead bidders.
I concur w/Neil about the coatings. It's just that much more alteration of the original. I prefer to get an estate pipe unmolested.
Why's that bad? Covering possible flaws or something?
