McMaster Carr WTF?
Re: McMaster Carr WTF?
I've been making pipes this far without ever ordering a thing from McMaster-Carr. I don't think you're out that much.

I hang out on a few woodworking and machinery forums too. It's not the first time I've seen Canadians come up against this and not just with McMaster-Carr. I'm not sure what a good long term solution would be. Usually the people just have a friend do the ordering and ship it from there. Kind of a waste of time and money, but it gets the job done. Vt-freehand's idea isn't bad though, at least for some of the more commonly needed items.
I'm surprised Canada doesn't have it's own version of a McMaster-Carr though. Canada has a large enough population and industrial base that it seems they could support one.

Jamestown? Their shipping is the most expensive anyways... Charged me 34$ in shipping to send 2 small drillbits in an envelope to Belgium, and the envelope showed that postage was only $10...Sasquatch wrote:I found an even MORE expensive place, Canada based, but... they are talking to me. Michelle at Jamestown talked to me to, but they didn't have a 5/32 in stock.
