SEM Mottled Green Rod
SEM Mottled Green Rod
Anyone know where I can get SEM mottled green rod domestically?
I have a customer who wants this material for a pipe and I would rather not go to SEM with an order for one rod.

PME used to carry a bunch of the SEM swirl colors, but I haven't been up there lately.
Re: SEM Mottled Green Rod
It looks like all PME has is material from NYH.
I need the stuff from SEM per a very specific customer request.
Thanks,
Todd

I hate to split up my sample kit (one of every color, 4 3/8" long), but if you cannot find it anywhere else, I can give you the "13/8 jaguar" green mottled piece or the "05 green" which is a single swirl

FWIW todd,
the jaguar green is incredibly nice looking
the jaguar green is incredibly nice looking
Re: SEM Mottled Green Rod
Do you have a pic of the mottled? I think mine is swirled but a pic will confirm this.

Re: SEM Mottled Green Rod
I can't speak for Todd, but SEM lists as;
"marbled" = 1 swirl
"mottled" = 8 swirls
"marbled" = 1 swirl
"mottled" = 8 swirls
Re: SEM Mottled Green Rod
Well that is exactaly what I am looking for.wisemanpipes wrote:FWIW todd,

Sas is going to send me some, SEM green that he has.
Hopefully it is the Jaguar because I can't (won't) afford to order directly from SEM.

The stuff I have, looking at the SEM site, is probably the 04 brown swirl rather than green proper.
I have some bright green and black indian stuff.....

It's inferior, but not un-useable if your standards are.... flexible. But you might get halfway through a stem and find something horrible and have to start again. I got a bunch of stems out of mine no problem, but then had one with a bunch of hard little white inclusions right after that.
