this was the result from this weekend, more sanding and finishing needed any ideas on color? What a pain in the ass horn is.

looking good. not a fan of the shape myself, but it looks well executed. is that a dunhill design/shape?

Nice start. Looking forward to the completed pictures. Is that a built in wind screen? I've never seen that before.

Yes it is a dunhill patented shape from 1909 ish Hey wise, is it me or are you not much of a fan of anything? :?: ha

hey bob, checked your site and saw your shop. ughhh i wish i had that work bench.
and no ive checked out some of your other stuff and its great! im a fan of alot. i dont remeber what else on here, where i said i didnt like it. people ask for critics on pipes so i give a very uneducated one :) i never said i wasnt a fan of you work, just said i wasnt a fan of that quirky dunhill shape. didnt mean to be harsh. my appologies bob.

Nice start Bob!
I don't know how that Dunhill patent you're using as a template looks, so with that in mind I might not be able to provide valuable critique.
However I think it needs more work on the horn and stem, so it matches the thickness of the shank. There also seems to be some glue-residues between the horn and shank.
Regarding the colouring, natural or with brown contrast stains with natural top coat works great with horn accents (in my opinion :) , others may think different)

Hehe.. Maybe "template" was the wrong word, google translate gets the translation of tricky words wrong sometimes. It sounded about right to me in the Swedish translation :lol:
I thought you wanted feedback on the pipe as a whole, as like it was ready for colour and buff. Keep at it man :wink:
