Favorite Blends. Hmmmm......

Of the blends I like, several are either no longer made, no longer made in the original form, or are not available in the US any longer. Of these, I have between 2 and 20 tins of individual blends, so I have some time left to ponder life with them.

I'm *fairly* certain you can get any of those in bulk, at least the MacBaren and McClelland . Or was it that you wanted to try something different?

2015 is, if I am not mistaken, the bulk that is closest to St. James Woods, the VaPer.

While not exactly in your genre, a lot of pipesters swear by McClelland 5100. It is a ribbon cut matured va.

I just recently bought some Rattray's Marlin Flake in bulk, and after it dried out for about two months, I find it very nice. I've seen Bob's chocolate in bulk. Try Larry Christopher at the Pipe and Pint in Greensboro, NC.

I couldn't find Larry's site, but you can get contact info in the pipes section of Paul's site here

Well, since I started this thread I have certainly had my eyes--or tastebuds--opened by some great new blends. Here are my current open tins:

Escudo Navy Deluxe (thanks Tyler for that suggestion, it's incredible)
McClelland's Virginia #27
McClelland's Deep Woods
GLP Bohemian Scandal (Absolutely AMAZING!)
GLP Renaissance (The smoothest latakia mixture I've yet smoked)
GLP Cumberland
Dunhill Durbar
Esoterica Margate (Another great english blend)
McCranie's 1996 Red Ribbon
Peterson's Irish Oak
Mac Baren's Latakia Blend (It's okay, but not my cup of tea b/c it has just a hint of Latakia, not the large amounts that I've grown to like. I have 3 more tins that have been cellaring for 5 years if anyone wants to trade)

That's it for now.

I smoke probably ten, twelve bowls a day. I'm hooked on Peterson's University Flake. Like a bowl of Royal Yaght or Nightcap (both Dunhill) maybe once a day. Used to smoke Mc's 27 years ago, and also St. Bruno before they stopped importing. If any of you have similar tastes and would like to suggest something, please do. Never know when Peterson's will peter out.

These are my favorite blends. I used to prefer Virginias, but have almost completely lost any taste for them. I'll still have a bowl of Escudo on occasion, but I generally stick with English blends.

Dunhill Aperetif
GLP Caravan
Balkan Sobranie White
Dunhill Elizabethan
John Cotton's (#12 I think)
GLP Odyssey
