Lol! I'd never heard "Birdseye Delight" before, but I like it! :D

That is one fine pipe, sir. :notworthy:

Thanks a lot for some of the history behind this shape. It is most helpful. :)

If it isn't too much to ask, would you be willing to post a few more photos of that pipe?
Sure here are some more photos of it:

Whoa! What a beauty! When viewed in profile, the two points which create a bisecting line through the bowl are very dramatic to my eye. Sweet!

Thanks for sharing. :D

Disclaimer: I, like Roger Clemens, am good at misremembering. I don't think I'm making this up, but then again...

In a P&T article about a decade ago, Lars explained that his inspiration for naming his first blowfish was from observing his pet blowfish in the aquarium. He noted that the fish always cocked it's tail to the side in a very distinctive manner before attacking whatever food Lars had dropped in. As the story goes, Lars made a pipe (a bent egg to my eye) and the bulbous bowl in angle with the shank looked to him like his ready-to-attack blowfish, thus the name.

I'm going to try to find that old issue just to be sure I didn't botch this too badly.

So... given that I'm crazy for even attempting this shape at this point... here's some photos of the pipe I'm attempting right now. I figure since it's not done I'd post it here. It's on topic. :P

In any case, this is where it is now. There's still a ton to be done, clearly, and the stem is definitely going to change before all is said and done. You can bet once it is done that I'll post the finished product in the Gallery. If anyone feels inclined to give advice, please feel free.
