Re: P3611
That's a stunning pipe. I especially like the wafer thin white rings on the shank. Beautiful work as usual. You definitely have an identifiable style developing.
Re: P3611
Great work! That looks like palm wood on the shank, I've got a block sitting in my workshop... I think I'll have to use it on my next pipe!
Re: P3611
thanks guys...

Re: P3611
Daniel I don't know if it's your "best" or not, but it is very good, and your pipes have taken off lately in terms of design and execution. Much better lines and a lot better flow of ideas. You are coming into a recognizeable style, but the funny lumps and angles - the stuff that didn't work on some of the early pipes, is gone, and what's left behind is just getting better and better.
Like, the thin white lines on the outside of the palm are just wonderful. A really cool touch.

ALL YOUR PIPE ARE BELONG TO US!
Re: P3611
thank you guys so much... happy you like her
Re: P3611
The other thing I really like about this pipe is that the two beveled edges on the rim are stained to match the darker brown of the black palm. It really pulls the piece together. Very nice touch. This is a pipe that I could see in my collection.
Re: P3611
thank you Wayne

You must have planted them wrong. Mine grew just fine, Jack!Sasquatch wrote:I don't think Daniel trades pipes for magic beans, Wayne.
And come to think of it, that beanstalk never grew at all, and that's what, 2 years on? I think you ripped me off.
