11-21 winter wren

Post by Jos »

Hi there,

the stem reminded me of that cheerful little bird, so I called it "winter wren" ... though it's a whole lot bigger.

11 cm / 4.3 " long, weight 67 g / 2.4 oz., ebonite stem.

Critique, please ...

Best regards, Jens

Had I not seen your name "winter wren", I would have just thought it was a weird pipe, but with that name I can totally see it! My wife says a winter wren should be a different color, probably darker.

Neat pipe.

For me, and I am by no means an expert, a "blind squirrel, looking for a nut" as Edward would say, I think it would look neat if that square portion on top of the shank were the same shape as the "front" of the bowl (away for those in the argument).

I like the little chubby bastard!!

At first I didnt like this pipe, but the more I look at it the cooler it gets.
Nice finish work.
The square shank still bothers me though, I think I would like it better if it was round.
