Hey fellas...I just got back from about two months of living in the Mariama tribe here in Papua New Guinea and just thought y'all might like to see some of these tobacco pics from my time there. They, of course, grow all their own tobacco and newspaper was actually my biggest thing to trade them for garden food (well, this and salt) as they would use it to roll their smokes. One day I broke out a pipe to have a smoke with them and they all had a good laugh and called me "lapun" which means old man. Seems our cultures aren't too far off from each other. Anywho...here you go.
I'd hate to deprive you all of my handsome mug...
Some folks put their cigs behind their ears...some put them, well...in their ears...
Rolling some Mac Baren Arcadian Perique...they loved it.

Re: Mariama tribe and tobacco...
Awesome man, thanks for the pics. I was going to comment on harvesting plants with the flowers still on them, but I see the rest of the plants were topped. I guess the first were untopped to harvest seed.
Hope they didnt smoke you out of MacBaren...

That's great stuff, thanks much for sharing it. Would love to hear more of your experiences if you ever get the feeling to write up a little more
