That really big bowled pipe...

Post by andrew »

so here is the start of that really large pipe for the farmer

Image

It's got a few miles to go before it's done. The bowl is 1.5" diameter and a nearer to 1.75" deep. The weight is near 69g right now, but I should be able to shave quite a bit off that.

Looks a little bit like it's been carved with a hatchet, the wood is pretty clean though.

Cool ! I'd leave as much meat as possible on the walls. You saw how much abuse the old pipe got from knocking out the bowl, smoking hot etc.

That thing will smoke so badly...

Not because of anything you're doing wrong! There is just no way a bowl that big will burn evenly.

It's a fun experiment though!

I know... it will probably smoke in one spot about the size of a dime. Maybe it's possible to get something like the "eternal flame" mounted on the side of it (relights). Slightly modified beer hat should do the trick, just fill'er up lighter fluid and mount the mouthpiece on the side of the pipe.

That just looks comical.

Not to say your skills are lacking, just that that pipe is waaaaay out of proportion. Wonder if the farmer uses a mosquito torch to light it.
