Rod Davies sent me some kudzu extract (a formula known only to hillwilliams) that kept the stain from running. This allowed me to use a 3" paint brush and to simply give it a swipe or two and presto-changeo, it was finished.

As a side note, I believe Rod learned this trick from Timothy Leary.

Wow! I wanna' ask how you did that but I don't even know where to begin. If Jimi Hendrix smoked a pipe (and he probably did, but not this kind), this would have his name written all over it. Really unique. Would love to see some more pics of that stem.
