Group Ebonite buy
Re: Group Ebonite buy
Can't believe I almost missed out on this. 2 black, 1 cumberland
Oh, and if I fail to check in here when it's time to send payment, please contact me at the other place Wayne. I'm online there a lot more often.

Wow, this is great to see! I'm in too....
I'll take 8 black and 4 Cumberland of the 22mm.
For the record, I'd also be interested in 18mm and a rod or two of larger stock if that happens along with this, or some other time in the future. I agree that It's not worth messing up the 22mm minimums though, or making this too complicated. It's going to be tough enough to pull off.
Thanks very much for heading this up!

Yes, you're right, there's no reason to take away from the 22 mm order. Sorry, I didn't mean to derail anything. We can coordinate an 18 mm buy in the future. I'm still interested in 6 black and 3 cumberland in this size.sethile wrote:Wow, this is great to see! I'm in too....

Re: Group Ebonite buy
We've met our minimums and then some. I'm putting a deadline for ordering of 8/21/11 at midnight EST and will be contacting NYH to get a quote (hopefully to include shipping) the following Monday. Once I hear back from them, I will contact everyone who orders with the amount they owe and details on payment options. I will collect shipping addresses closer to time to ship from my house to yours for simplicities sake so I don't have address changes to keep track of and what not.
Once the order goes in, keep in mind that NYH will have to make the rods so delivery to us could take some time.
Thanks in advance for everyone's patience.

I'm in for 4 black and 4 cumberland.
Even though Ernie is a dimwit, I'd join him regarding some 45mm. Anyone else interested is some larger stock?

Sorry, but scratch the black, it's just too small in diameter.baweaverpipes wrote:I'm in for 4 black and 4 cumberland.

I'm a go for 3 cumberland.
Apologies for being a pain in the Rod.

Re: Group Ebonite buy
I'll take the 4 black ones Bruce was going to take. If we can get him to pay for it, even better.
Also, 4 cumberland. Charge that to Ernie.
Thanks!

Re: Group Ebonite buy
Okay, I've sent a request for a quote for 69 meters of rough 22mm black ebonite and 55 meters of rough 22mm Cumberland rods to NYH. Once I hear back from them I will PM each of you with a balance due for your orders payable via paypal, money order, or personal check to me. I'll include the details in the PM. The sooner I receive everyone's payment the sooner we can start production. Paypal would be the quickest but keep in mind that you will be responsible for any Paypal fees. NYH will start production after they have recieved our payment in advance. Stay tuned.....
Re: Group Ebonite buy
Wayne, I don't know how others feel, but I wouldn't be opposed to you giving yourself a small discount and bumping our prices up a dollar or two per meter to say thank you for putting this all together. Anybody else have thoughts on that?
Re: Group Ebonite buy
Yes, that's a great idea, and entirely appropriate. You'll have a bunch of time in this in the end, Wayne.NathanA wrote:Wayne, I don't know how others feel, but I wouldn't be opposed to you giving yourself a small discount and bumping our prices up a dollar or two per meter to say thank you for putting this all together. Also, make sure you get all the shipping charges covered. NYH to you, and you to us, etc.. I don't remember having to pay duty on Ebonite from Germany, but I certainly have on Briar from Italy. Better make sure that's covered or not applicable for some reason.

I've never paid any duty on briar. I pay UPS their freight forwarding charge of $30 something, no matter how much briar I get. As far as I know there's no duty on briar blocks.sethile wrote:

They tried to charge me once for duty on finished pipes, but I called them up and to correct their mistake, and they said, "Oh, okay, just don't pay that part."

I think the "Thanks, Wayne!" surcharge is a good idea.
