Very nice use of grain. There is a lot of harmony in the shape and elegant flow of the lines.
I like it.

My only criticism of it, I dont care for the wire brush rustication.
Everything else about the pipe is so elegant, the wire rustication seems too simple.
Maybe there is just so much of it on the pipe, but I would prefer to see a different technique and a different look to those areas.

Nice work. Really good looking lines and wonderful briar.
Maybe a slightly thinner shank...
Greetings,

Ramón

edward - very good suggestions and criticisms - but I'm still learning - how use of different techniques, composition, shape, color, etc.

the more I liked snablasting - but I dont have this tool - so based only on what I have - and it's just wired - and "drastic" rustic to this pipe lines is not nice i think... :)

p.s.: omg :) i must more learn english - translator is !!!!!!!!!!

I don't usually go for blocky pipes but I really like this one. It's simple but at the same time you've added just enough design elements to make it interesting. I also have to disagree with Edward in that I think this rustication works very well with the pipe design. The less random wire rustications compliments the geometric theme of the pipe, IMO. Other than a slight gap on the underside of the stem shank transition and some stain/wax in the bowl I can't find anything else to critique. Nice job.

Also remember, I have never made a pipe :)
I am only writing as a pipe smoker with some idea of what he likes in art and pipes.

Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm right. :D

I can see your point Wayne, the lines of wire rustication does compliment the lines of the grain in a lot of ways.
I think I would like the pipe most if the front and back were sandblasted like baron mentioned, but who knows ?
It is a beautiful design as it is already.
Baronstrasil; I think your translation comes out fine in english.
