Actually, I traded off the smaller 6x18 craftsman metal lathe for a sherline mini-mill so that I can make some of my own jaws among other things. And I do know that the Jet works, I haven't gotten to use it yet, but my buddy uses it quite often for drilling blocks and stem work.

As for living quarters, I hope your correct, as if I spend much more on tools and such, the wife will have me living in there.

Some nice shops so far, keep them coming. It's also my favorite part of a pipe makers pictures, after the pipes that is.

That said I will show you my modest pipe shop where two of us work after we set it up, which is in early January. The funny thing is that most of these pictures have really compiled into the idea I settled on and have now drawn and mocked up. So expect to see alot of your own pieces of inspiration and some of those little proprietary tools pictured.

It is gonna be dank!

The rest of that translation is a bunch of German claptrap! I learned that word from Butch Weaver.

Some more of Butch's favorite words are: Cockamamie, Malarkey, 23 Skidoo, and Balderdash, I believe. Also Horse Pucky.

All of these apply equally to your translations. Except for 23 Skidoo. I'm not sure what that means.

Here's my two wood lathes. I burnt out the Delta midi motor so I bought the Rikon to replace it. I've since bought a variable speed conversion kit for the Delta to put it back in service. It's nice to use one for stems and inlays and one for drilling and shaping briar. At least until I can afford a metal lathe.

This is my new air compressor and sandblasting cabinet in the background. The compressor is a two stage 7.5 hp 80 gal. 175 psi Ingersol Rand.

Here is my sanding station. I have a Variable Frequency Drive and a 3 phase Baldor motor that I'll eventually get set up to replace this setup. Also pictured is my Jet dust collector. I don't quite have it set up right but it's a work in progress.

My long term plan is to build a separate workshop and move all this stuff out of the garage.
