Alas, after shipping arrive, it's pipes away!

Post by Dixie_piper »

After months of reading through the forum, posting numb skull ideas and general procrastination it's almost time.
Waiting for several items to ship, few hunks of briar, stems/stem material and tools then I'll be set for the making of meh first pipes! :)
Called Tim West of J.H. Lowe today, super friendly and very helpful guy. Got 3 block and stems underway from him, and looking forward to doing more business with Tim in the future.
Armed with a drill press, sanders and buffing rigs I hope to, nay will, soon be putting into practice the wealth of knowledge shared here.
Just wanted to take time to thank the many helpful individuals who've set the paving stones in place! THANKS GUYS!!!
Regards,
Adam

I'll try my damndest! :)
I haven't forgotten the kit we talked about, still waiting for that fool to make up his mind
I will be posting pics when I finish for sure, and I can foresee many Q&A's along the way.
Now, my angle grinder will work for finish shaping, right?

Adam

If you drill with that SDS bit, an angle grinder WILL indeed to for your final shaping!

Goody! I forgot to get the hammer drill... oh well, I've got a claw hammer and a cordless drill, same thing, right?
Dammit, I knew that would come back to haunt me :)
Truth be known, in my blissful ignorance, I searched eBay for 6" drill bits. Saw SD... and my ADD kicked in, clicked to buy it, read details later. This guy here, brain not so good, but,
"we're none of us perfect." Yeah, that's right, I just quoted Homer Simpson, what?!?!
