Best Place to Get Taper and Drill Chuck?

Post by ScoJo »

Hi there - new poster. Got bitten by the bug after visiting John Crosby (thanks for your hospitality, John!).

Title says it all - I am looking for a #2 morse taper and drill chuck. I found this on amazon cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... i&n=507846

Is it okay? At the shop I was in, it was $20-21 for the taper and $28 or so for the chuck.

Thanks,
Scott

Hey, Kirk!

Thanks for the input. Now all I need is that kit (thanks, by the way!)...

...and some talent.

Scott,

If you're on a budget, harbor freight is the way to go. They have a chuck premounted on a #2 morse taper for around $10 total. I use it and it's worked out fine so far. It's certainly not the best piece of equipment that I own, but it's functional and will last a good while, I'm sure.

Just head over to www.harborfreight.com and punch in this item code: 42340-1VGA
