When I make a knife sheath out of kydex I typically have been using barrel nuts and machine screws to fasten it together. However, that doesn't always work well for small sheaths - especially neck sheaths. So I decided to start using rivets (or eyelets if you prefer) to fasten everything together. The problem is that the small flaring tools that are designed to be used with a hammer tend to split the rivets, even when used with a press. There are professional flaring dies available, but they cost around $35 each, and since I need one set for 1/4" and one for 3/16", I'd be out $70 - right?
Wrong:
Honestly, I don't know what I used to do without this metal lathe. I sure as hell didn't make near as many tools, that's for sure.

Saving/making money is the best reasoning for any hobbyist to cut loose. Bravo on that one
