Jewellers rouge vs tripoli

Post by Charl »

I got hold of some jewellers rouge a little while ago, and was wondering if someone could help:
Is the cut of rouge finer or rougher than tripoli? And also: would the red of the rouge sort of "colour" the wood? Is it actually worth having at all? :?

Rouge is no good. It will not only color the wood, it will color stems.

Thanks, Rad! I thought it was dubious.
