Dunhill Nomenclature

My buddy and I were at a pipe shop today and he picked up a Dunhill estate pipe. We are trying to figure out what all the numbers mean on the pipe. After the "Made in England" there is a 20, which means 20 years after 1960 (thus 1980). Then the other number is 51051. The first 5 means it's a Group 5. The 1 means Tapered. The 05 means Dublin. These fit the pipe's description. But we can't figure out what the last 1 represents. Does anyone know?

John Loring's book, The Dunhill Briar Pipe, says the following.

"In 1978 a formal four and five digit system was introduced with the first digit being the pipe size, the second being the bit type, and the third and fourth denoting the shape, with, for several years but no longer, an optional fifth diget to denote variations from that standard shape."

Unfortunately, there are no details that explain the code.

too cool! If I remember correctly, Jeff Fododler (or somthing like that) is very knowledgable about Dunhills. Give hime a yell on ASP.
