Meerschaum patching?

I have acquired this old meerscaum pipe, but unfortunately, the inside of the bowl is badly in need of patching. Any of you guys know of anything I can use? Or is it a throw-away?

Clean cigar ash and a few drops of water to make a thick paste or perhaps clay slip.

You could also try plaster-of-paris.
