John,

Welcome to the world of pipe makers! I hope you enjoy the heck out of smoking that pipe. Nothing quite like smoking the first one you've made. I still smoke my first fairly regularly.

Looking good John. Would you share with us how/what you did to the stem to fix it?????

My first thought was that the shank wasn't sanded straight. So, I took to it with file and sandpaper. After a few mins. of futzing with it and not getting it right, I took it apart and studied the situation. Then it hit me, the tenon and mortis mesurement. Sure enough, that was the problem. I filed the tenon down a bit and viola' it fits almost perfectly.
