Had problems making the stain even. Started with black and sanded back to 400 then applied tan and sanded again. The edge near the natural top to about 1/4" held the stain more than the rest of the briar. Tried another coat of tan and it stayed darker near the top. Is this common and are there ways around it? Maybe just a darker stain?
