Sunday the 16:th i got the heritage from Bo Nordh

Post by smokepiper »

In Bo´s last will he wanted me to have all his machinery and toolings from his workshop, the 16:th Tom Eltang and Jan Andersson drove all the way from the southern of Sweden to my workshop with all the machinery and toolings. I was stunned by Bo´s thoughts and didn´t understand it untill the machinery were outside my doorstep, still i have it hard to realize the fact of using the masters equipment. I am honored and will use his last will learning the secrets of pipemaking trying to live up to his expectations by leaving his trade to me, noone can replace Bo and i woun´t even dream of filling his shoes but this will give me the kick in the butt to do my very best and some more. Get back with some pics. when i got the machinery installed and the electrics fixed.

Holy cow, Ronny!! That's absolutely wonderful! I know you'll produce great works of art with them, especially since you're already making some excellent pipes. I know the tools don't make the craftsman, but in your case I know you'll see this as an impetus to step up your game and really grow in the craft. Obviously Bo saw something in you, something that he felt you should nurture and develop.

Ronny,
That is wonderful. I believe something of us is imbued by our posessions.
Thats what makes them so special to leave someone ! You'll do them justice I'm sure.
Best,
Dan

Holy smoke! That truly is an honour. Bo was one of the most talented and creative of pipemakers. Sixten & Bo, two of the most respected pipemakers, ever, both came from Sweden.
Regards,
Frank.

Well, Bo came from Sweden. Sixten came from Denmark. :)

I don't want to make this an argument issue, but here's an excerpt from Jakob Groth on Sixten: Quote, "Sixten was born in a very poor family in Skaane (Southern Sweden) in 1910." Although he moved to Denmark, he never gave up his Swedish citizenship.
