Greetings from Cape Cod

Post by CapeCodJay »

Greetings Gentlemen!

I wanted to take a min. to introduce myself.

My name is Jason and I live on beautiful Cape Cod, Mass.

I am 29 years old and am really interested in the art behind making pipes.

I am a professional classical musician, pilot, and all around gregarious/curious kind of person.

My other hobbies include, vintage fountain pens, wet shaving, travel, food, reading, and great conversation.

I look forward to being a part of this online community.

Feel free to say hello.

WHAT is wet shaving? It sounds scary.

(Being someone who does not willingly shave ever, unless forced to for social convention, at which point the wife's electric shaver is stolen)

Welcome to the forum!

Edit: One of the nicest perks of being a professional pipemaker is that I never have to shave or wear ties, and people generally expect me to look like some sort of scraggly hippy-esque weirdo, so I fit perfectly. :D

I haven't shaved in ages, and I love it. I just use the same cordless buzzer on my face as I do my head, and it leaves, maybe, half a millimeter. I hit my whole head about twice a week - longer if I don't have to go anywhere or do anything.

I once went a week and a half without buzzing my head, and my older daughter exclaimed "Jeez, Dad! Cut your hair, you're starting to look like hippy!". :)

Wait till they start talking about wearing their skirts... er.. I mean KILTS around their shops. Days worth of fun in that conversation right there.
